All About North Art Supplies
North Art Supplies first opened its doors in 1995 in the back room of Artisans of Muskoka. In 1998 the store moved to its current location. Sheila Wilson bought the business in the fall of 2013 when the original owner retired. She brought with her the artistic and carpentry skills to renovate the store, transforming it into a warm and inviting space. Sheila is committed to carrying as many Canadian sourced products as possible, including Tri Art, Kama and Apollon.
Janine Marson, a well known local artist, art instructor and custom framer has been with North Art Supplies since the beginning. Following the first Covid lockdown in 2020, the custom framing portion of the business was transferred to Janine. It is now operated onsite as a separate business, True Colours Art and Design. Janine is still around in the shop to offer her many years of experience to advise customers on their art supply purchases.
